Operations Trainer
Chiltern Railways are responsible for operating a rail service from London Marylebone through to Birmingham, with many stops in-between around the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas.
We are looking for an Operations Trainer to join us. The purpose of this role will be to assist the Operations Training Manager, in the day to day running of the Operations Training Department. This includes the arranging and running of operations courses, course setting up, ad-hoc training when required, liaising with other departments, attend meetings in the absence of the Operations Training Manager as required.
To assist in the updating of courses, rules, traction, and any relevant instructions or procedures as necessary.

Assist with the Preparation and the delivery of Driver’s Safety Brief (8 week cycle)Assist with the Preparation of Training Day content (16 week cycle)
Delivery of Driver Training days
Drivers Bi-annual rules Exams
Assist in Management and Assessments of Driver Instructors
Deliver Formal Training for Driving Instructors
Assist in the Updating of Rules package and other relevant publications
Take Rules, Traction, Train Handling and route examinations when required
Assess Drivers/Trainee Drivers as to the Driver Competence standards as set in GO/RT 3260
Assist the Operations Training manager as required
The post holder must have at least 3 years fully qualified train driving experience
The post holder would preferably hold the C21 Instructors qualification or its equivalent
Must be numerate, literate and capable of communicating with people at all levels and have
The ability to prioritise and make decisions where necessary
A good knowledge of IT is preferable
The post will be predominately Monday to Friday, however it may be necessary from time to time to cover out of office hours working and possibly some weekend working, this would be only when it was necessary in the course of the post holders duties
