A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced supply chain and planning professional to join a global leader who is pioneering innovation in safety-critical equipment, used in defence, aerospace and maritime sectors.
Reporting to the Site General Manager, the Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for pulling all supply chain functions together harmoniously, giving the business an achievable production plan across runners, repeaters, strangers and aliens.
Key responsibilities will be to: -
- Take responsibility for the approved supply base of international suppliers, focusing on low volume but critical component providers, particularly those supporting irregular and legacy repeat product orders.

Understand demand, production capacity, material availability and risk within the supply chain.- Implement plans to reduce or remove risks, allowing the business to produce a realistic and achievable plan.
- Pull together departments of Supply Chain Management, Sub-contract Manufacturing, and Production Planning, building a collaborative and unified approach.
- Understand business systems, the flow of information between functions, and able to build robust practices that deliver accurate and usable decision-making data to the business. Understand the complexities of the MRP system, able to produce solutions to gaps in functionality.
- Work with department managers to ensure the supply chain is performance managed and improved
The successful candidate will: -
- Have experience in batch manufacturing, and complex assembly environments with high levels of quality and approvals are needed.
- Have detailed hands-on knowledge of supply chain management, production planning and the controls needed around sub-contract manufactured components.
